How do your lessons work?
We offer 30-minute one-on-one private lessons with one of our wonderful teachers based on you or your child's instrument of choice. Your lesson is scheduled for the same time and day on a weekly basis.
Because our school operates this way, we're able to fine-tune your lessons specifically to you! Whether your child is brand new to music and is ready to venture into an exciting new instrument and the basics of music theory for the first time, or you're an adult looking to come back to the instrument you love and fine-tune your skills, our staff and teachers are here to support you every step of the way.

What do I learn during my lessons?
Our goal as a music school is to help you gain the skills and techniques that will allow you or your child to achieve your specific musical goals. Your teacher will take the time to get to know you and those aspirations and tailor your lessons to reaching that goal. Our instructors are ready to pass on their knowledge and experiences in a fun and engaging way so that you can find growth and success in your own music. Lesson focuses might include music theory and technique, sight-reading practice, performance readiness, audition techniques, ear training, and so much more.
What times of day do you hold lessons?

Homeschooled children, retirees, and our younger students often take advantage of our early afternoon lesson times, while our evening times often accomodate adults after work and school-age children. We even offer lessons on Saturdays for those students whose weekdays are just too busy!
Our hours are as follows:

In addition to holding lessons, we also have a fully-stocked music storefront. We have a variety of new and used instruments available for purchase, as well as any lesson books or accessories that you might need. Rental instruments are also available through our partnership with NEMC.
Do you offer performance opportunities?
Quality Music students have the opportunity to perform at our two annual recitals. We host our winter and summer recitals at our Chesapeake location. On top of getting the chance to show off of their hard work, our participating students also receive personalized certificates commemorating their achievements. Plus, our recitals are completely free for our students and their families as there is no cost to participate in or attend our recitals.
Where do I go while my child's in a lesson?
We have an open-door policy here at Quality Music Center, meaning parents are more than welcome to sit in on their child's lesson whenever they'd like. We also have a cozy waiting room outfitted with plenty of seating, wifi, magazines, and toys to keep your little ones busy.
How much do your lessons cost?
Our lesson rate is $35.50 for each 30-minute lesson, or $142/month. Our new students are also subject to a one-time $30 registration fee. Upon completing registration after your paid trial lesson, we collect tuition via auto-draft from a valid credit card, debit card, or checking account on the first of the month. Our monthly tuition is cost-averaged for your convenience based on a 48-week yearly lesson calendar.
If for whatever reason you decide to stop taking lessons, all we ask is that you give us 30 days notice from the 1st of the month. There are no semester minimums or cancellation fees here at QMC, and all of our students are on a month-to-month basis.
